- Austin residents with city curbside service can set out natural trees by 5:30 a.m. on their regular composting or yard-trimming day.
- Residents without Austin curbside service may take natural trees, wreaths, and garlands to Zilker Park on Saturday, Jan. 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Travis County is offering free drop-off at five sites daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Jan. 11, with the same preparation rules required.
- Preparation rules apply regionwide: live trees only, no decorations or stands, no bags or flocking, and trees over six feet must be cut in half; San Antonio also enforces a tarp requirement for brush with a $5 fine for violations.
