Overview
- The university announced the AICTE-approved B.Tech for the 2026–27 academic session on Sunday, June 28, and the programme will run from CSU’s Nashik campus with a sanctioned intake of 66 seats.
- The curriculum combines core engineering subjects such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, Python, cloud computing and deep learning with language-technology courses including natural language processing, computational linguistics and OCR for ancient manuscripts.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted and praised the initiative on his Mann Ki Baat radio programme, saying it would help equip youth with modern skills and speed up the digitisation and preservation of India’s texts.
- The degree is the first AICTE-approved engineering programme offered by a Sanskrit university and is presented as an operational step under NEP 2020 to transform specialised institutions into multidisciplinary centres of learning.
