Central Railway to Run 14 AC Locals on CSMTPanvel Harbour Line From Jan. 26

The shift replaces existing non-AC services to meet commuter demand.

Overview

  • The rollout begins January 26 with seven Up and seven Down services linking CSMT, Panvel, Vadala Road and Vashi, including morning and evening peak trips.
  • Central Railway published a detailed timetable with train numbers and exact departure and arrival times for the new AC services.
  • The conversion raises the zone’s AC local count to 94, comprising 80 on the main line and 14 on the Harbour line.
  • The overall suburban service total remains 1,820 because the AC runs substitute existing non-AC trains rather than add new trips.
  • Certain AC-designated services will use non-AC rakes on Sundays and nominated holidays, including early VashiVadala Road, PanvelCSMT and Vadala RoadPanvel departures.
