Central Railway Sets Sept. 21 Mega Block, Diverting Fast Trains and Halting PanvelVashi Services

Railway officials describe the daytime shutdown as essential maintenance to protect safety and advance capacity upgrades.

Overview

  • Up and Down fast lines on the Main Line between Thane and Kalyan will be shut from 10:40 am to 3:40 pm, with fast locals diverted to the slow corridor.
  • Down fast and semi-fast trains leaving CSMT from 9:34 am to 3:03 pm will run on the slow line via Kalva, Mumbra and Diva and arrive about 10 minutes late.
  • Up fast and semi-fast trains leaving Kalyan from 10:28 am to 3:40 pm will use the Up slow line to Thane with halts at Diva, Mumbra and Kalva before rejoining the fast line at Mulund.
  • Harbour Line services between Panvel and Vashi will be suspended from 11:05 am to 4:05 pm, with PanvelCSMT and CSMTBelapur/Panvel services in specified windows cancelled.
  • Trans‑Harbour trains between Panvel and Thane will not run from 10:01 am to 3:53 pm, while ThaneVashi/Nerul and Port line services continue and special CSMTVashi locals operate; long‑distance trains will use the fifth and sixth lines between Thane and Kalyan/Vikhroli.
