Overview
- Blocks will run from 1:50 a.m. to 3:20 a.m. on the nights of Nov. 7/8 and Nov. 8/9 on the Up and Down South-East lines between Kalyan and Badlapur.
- Suburban services between Kalyan and Karjat will be suspended during the window, with specified locals cancelled or revised: the 12:02 a.m. CSMT–Ambernath and 10:15 p.m. Ambernath–CSMT are cancelled, the 12:12 a.m. CSMT–Karjat terminates at Thane, and the 2:30 a.m. Karjat–CSMT will start from Thane at 4:00 a.m.
- Long-distance services will be diverted via Karjat–Panvel–Diva, including train 11020 Bhubaneswar–CSMT Konark Express and 18519 Visakhapatnam–LTT Express, with late-running trains diverted as required.
- Train 12702 Hyderabad–CSMT Hussainsagar Express will be regulated at Vangani from 3:13 a.m. to 3:20 a.m., and trains that usually halt at Kalyan will stop at Panvel and Thane as alternate halts.
- Central Railway says the work supports safety-focused upgrades, and the Railways Ministry has separately approved passenger holding areas at 76 stations, including five in Mumbai, targeted before the 2026 festive season.
