Overview

• General Manager Vijay Kumar led tributes at CSMT and reviewed EMU rakes decorated with Gandhi-themed murals and Swachhata slogans.
• A luggage coach was redesigned as a Senior Citizen compartment with seven reserved seats, anti-skid flooring, grab handles, stainless-steel partitions and vinyl wrapping.
• Cultural outreach included a street play on “Swachhata Hi Seva Hai,” a Waste-to-Art exhibit, a Gandhi mural selfie point and distribution of Swachhata Oath pamphlets to commuters.
• Central Railway said Special Campaign 5.0 will run from October 2–31 to focus on sanitation, e-waste disposal, office and station beautification, digitisation, public feedback and scrap disposal for revenue.
• The Gandhi Jayanti activities follow the October 1 launch of Swachhata Pakhwada, when a mass pledge at CSMT committed staff to 100 volunteer hours a year under the national Swachhata Hi Sewa drive.
