Central Railway Lifts Ganeshotsav Specials to 310, Adds Four LTT–Sawantwadi Trains

Bookings are open for the added Mumbai–Sawantwadi trips, with crowd and ticketing measures in place across Mumbai terminals through August 30.

Overview

  • Indian Railways is operating 380 Ganpati special trips for 2025, with Central Railway running the largest share at 310 services.
  • Four new specials between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and Sawantwadi Road run on August 26–27, departing LTT at 1:00 am and leaving Sawantwadi at 5:30 pm, with same‑day and next‑day arrivals respectively.
  • The services halt at major Konkan corridor stations including Thane, Panvel, Pen, Roha, Khed, Chiplun, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg and Kudal.
  • Each train carries 1 First AC, 1 AC 2‑tier, 5 AC 3‑tier, 8 Sleeper Class, 4 General Second Class coaches, a Second Seating cum Guard’s brake van, a generator car and a pantry car.
  • Reservations for trains 01109 and 01110 are available on IRCTC and at counters, unreserved seats can be booked via UTS at normal charges, and Central Railway has deployed senior officers with over 180 ticket‑checking staff plus 30 Mobile‑UTS devices and extra ticket windows from August 27 to manage demand.
