Central Railway Launches First Direct Daily Train Between Beed and Pune

Rail officials say the service will reduce road travel by connecting Beed passengers to Pune’s wider rail network.

Overview

  • Central Railway flagged off the inaugural Beed–Pune special, Train No. 01401, on Thursday, Sept. 17, running from Beed to Pune with scheduled halts at Amalner Bhandyache, New Ashti, Narayandoho, Ahilyanagar, Shrigonda Road, Daund Chord Line and Uruli.
  • The inaugural rake includes two AC 2-tier coaches, three AC 3-tier coaches, four sleeper coaches, four general second class coaches, one second seating-cum-guard’s brake van and one generator van.
  • The zone said the permanent daily service will run as Train Nos. 11433/11434 Pune–Beed–Pune but Central Railway has not yet published the full timetable or official stoppage list for the regular runs.
  • Railway and state officials say the new link will ease travel for students, patients, traders and pilgrims by cutting dependence on road routes and by giving Beed residents direct onward connections through Pune.
  • The launch followed commissioning of the Ahilyanagar–Beed section of the Ahilyanagar–Beed–Parli Vaijnath new-line project and was publicly framed by Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar as fulfilling the late Ajit Pawar’s promise, with MPs, MLAs and local officials attending the ceremony.
