Central Railway Begins 15-Day Maintenance Blocks In Mumbai

The plan backs Karjat yard remodelling with footbridge works at Byculla, Sion.

Overview

  • Daytime traffic blocks run September 27–30 from 11:20 to 16:20 on the Panvel line near Karjat, suspending KarjatKhopoli suburban services with specified cancellations, short terminations and short originations.
  • Night blocks on September 28 for FOB girder launches will shut lines between BycullaParel (00:30–04:30) and Dadar–Kurla (01:10–04:10), leading to regulation and short termination of select Mail/Express trains including 11020 and 12810 and several suburban cancellations.
  • On September 28, Central Railway will also operate a Main Line block between Vidyavihar and Thane from 08:00 to 13:30 and a Trans-Harbour block between Thane and Vashi/Nerul from 11:10 to 16:10, diverting trains with 10–15 minute delays and suspending ThaneVashi/Nerul services during the window.
  • Western Railway will take a five-hour jumbo block on September 28 between Churchgate and Mumbai Central from 10:35 to 15:35, running slow-line trains on fast tracks with some cancellations and short terminations.
  • From October 1 to December 19, CSMT Platform 18 will be closed for RLDA redevelopment, with trains such as 12112 and 11002 short-terminated at Dadar from journeys commencing September 30, and Central Railway will issue further block details for October 1–10.
