Central Peru Business Forum Sets Dec. 4–5 Huancayo Meeting to Press Priority for Nueva Carretera Central

Organizers say the project's 2026 funding fell to S/317 million from S/1,500 million, putting a planned January start at risk.

Overview

  • The VIII CEC 2025, organized by the Huancayo Chamber of Commerce with CONFIEP, Diario Correo and Universidad Continental, will convene business groups and regional chambers to coordinate a unified stance.
  • Participants plan to deliver a joint proposal to the Presidency, MTC and MEF calling for political commitment, transparency and financial prioritization for strategic works led by the Nueva Carretera Central.
  • The program lists attendance from CONFIEP, Perucámaras, BCR and IPE specialists, and senior officials from ProInversión and the MEF, with the president slated to join virtually and ministers invited to respond on investment commitments.
  • Sessions will examine alternative funding such as green finance, gas and rail projects, and the channeling of more than S/10,000 million into circular‑economy initiatives to offset constrained public investment.
  • Backers frame the NCC as a S/24,541 million corridor linking Lima to the central highlands and to the Port of Chancay and Jorge Chávez airport, with potential benefits for nearly 10 million residents.
