  • A 10-member National Joint Outbreak Response Team led by Dr Pranay Verma has arrived to coordinate Nipah containment in Malappuram and Palakkad.
  • Contact tracing has reached 499 individuals: 203 in Malappuram, 116 in Kozhikode, 178 in Palakkad and two in Ernakulam.
  • Malappuram district lifted all containment zones in 20 wards while Palakkad maintains restrictions in six wards.
  • A Palakkad native remains critically ill in Kozhikode and an 18-year-old Malappuram patient died on July 4.
  • An eight-member NIV bat-surveillance team led by Dr E Dilip Patil is set to deploy for targeted zoonotic monitoring.
