Central Florida Votes in Orlando City Commission Races as District 5 Draws Spotlight

Results will post to county election websites after polls close at 7 p.m.

Overview

  • Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and anyone in line by 7 p.m. can still cast a ballot.
  • Three Orlando City Commission seats are on the ballot in Districts 1, 3, and 5, with District 5 featuring Regina Hill, interim commissioner Shaniqua "Shan" Rose, and Lawanna Gelzer.
  • Regina Hill was suspended by Gov. Ron DeSantis in 2023 over allegations she exploited an elderly woman, which she denies as the criminal case continues.
  • District 3 is open as longtime Commissioner Robert Stuart is not seeking reelection, and District 1 incumbent Jim Gray is seeking to keep his seat.
  • Voters in parts of Brevard, Lake, and Volusia counties are also deciding local races and charter amendments, and turnout in Orlando’s District 5 is expected to trail the other two commission contests.
