Overview
- Scottish Borders Council approved plans for a roughly 700‑lodge village near Hawick to be called Center Parcs Scottish Borders.
- Work is scheduled to start in spring 2026 with a targeted opening in summer 2029.
- Center Parcs and council documents project around 800 construction jobs and about 1,200 permanent roles once operational.
- Council estimates point to more than 350,000 visitors a year and approximately £30–£40 million in annual local economic benefit.
- Plans include an indoor swimming complex, Aqua Sana spa, shops, restaurants, new lochs and nature trails, with commitments to create new woodland and deliver biodiversity net gain.
