Overview

• The crash occurred around 3 a.m. on June 4 when a cement‐laden trolley overturned onto an Eco van near Meghnagar in Jhabua district
• The van was carrying villagers returning from a wedding ceremony when the speeding mixer lost control on a diversion near the under-construction Sajeli railway crossing
• Nine people died instantly; they have been identified as members of the Khaped, Bamnia and Parmar families, including four children
• Two survivors—a 19-year-old woman and a five-year-old child—were rushed to hospitals in Dahod and Thandla and remain in critical condition
• Authorities are investigating potential negligence by the construction company for failing to erect warning signs and are searching for the trolley driver who fled the scene
