  • Celtic has brought back Portuguese forward Jota from Rennes on a contract running until June 2030 for a reported €10 million.
  • Jota previously played for Celtic between 2021 and 2023, scoring 28 goals in 83 appearances and winning two Scottish league titles.
  • In a separate deal, Celtic sold Japanese striker Kyogo Furuhashi to Rennes for a reported €12 million; he scored 85 goals in 165 matches for Celtic since 2021.
  • Furuhashi joins Rennes on a 2.5-year contract as the club fights to avoid relegation from Ligue 1, where they currently sit in the playoff spot.
  • Jota will be eligible to play in Celtic's Champions League knockout phase starting February 11 but cannot participate in their final group-stage match against Aston Villa.
