Overview
- The match kicks off at 8pm BST on Thursday, October 22 at Celtic Park and is live on TNT Sports 3 in the UK and on Paramount+ in the US.
- Both clubs enter the game pointless after two league‑phase defeats, so a victory is widely seen as essential to avoid falling into a difficult qualifying position.
- Celtic face defensive shortages with Cameron Carter‑Vickers and Yang Hyun‑jun unavailable, Alistair Johnston doubtful, and attacker Jota ineligible for the Europa League squad, forcing selection choices at the back.
- Supporter unrest over club ownership has prompted a partial home boycott that will leave empty seats while Celta have brought an unusually large travelling contingent of about 3,000 fans.
- Bookmakers and many previews favour Celta, with Williot Swedberg and Hugo Álvarez among the visitors to watch and Camilo Durán singled out as Celtic’s key attacking threat.
