Celina Jaitly Files Domestic Violence Case in Mumbai as Court Sets December 12 Hearing

The magistrate verified her complaint before issuing notice to Peter Haag for a December 12 hearing.

Overview

  • Jaitly’s petition under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act alleges prolonged emotional, physical, sexual, verbal and financial abuse that she says forced her to leave Austria for India.
  • She seeks Rs 50 crore in compensation, Rs 10 lakh monthly maintenance and court directions for unhindered virtual and telephonic access to their children living with Haag in Austria.
  • Her counsel says an Austrian court recently granted her one hour of daily telephonic access to the children, while Haag’s divorce application is pending in Austria after being filed in August 2025.
  • A separate civil suit in Mumbai seeks cancellation of a January 14, 2019 gift deed that transferred their shared residence to Haag, which Jaitly alleges occurred under coercion during a period of grief.
  • Jaitly is represented by Karanjawala & Co, and her filing also requests protective orders related to the Mumbai home and reliefs addressing alleged financial control and loss of income.
