Overview
- A large ceiling fan detached and landed inside the Stardust Racers waiting area on Sunday, October 18, 2026, footage shared online shows the unit lodged between a wall and a railing.
- The video was posted by TikTok creator Shane Mercier, who estimated the fan weighed about 20–30 pounds and showed visible damage to a railing above the queue.
- A TikTok commenter said a guest was struck and treated by paramedics before the queue was cleared, but that claim has not been independently confirmed and Universal has not issued a statement.
- Operational indicators show the ride was closed after the incident: Thrill Data lists no wait times after about 12:28 p.m. on Sunday and the Universal app listed Stardust Racers as delayed during early admission on Monday, while some park fans were reportedly turned off as a precaution.
- Stardust Racers has an active history of lawsuits and a September 2025 death that drew scrutiny, so investigators, maintenance crews, and regulators will likely review inspections, fastening methods, and weather factors next.
