Overview
- Procon said Wednesday it cited seven gas stations for abusive pricing in the interior of Ceará during the Consumo Seguro operation.
- Inspectors visited 13 stations across Itapipoca, Tianguá, Viçosa, Canindé and Baturité with support from the Civil Police and the state weights-and-measures institute, IPEM.
- In Itapipoca, IPEM found leaks in fuel pump meters at two stations, which can make customers receive less fuel than the display shows.
- The Consumer Protection Police (Delecon) will investigate possible crimes against the economic order after the irregularities and formal complaints.
- The sweep runs through Thursday, and cited stations must present invoices and pricing records, which could lead to fines or further action if they cannot justify recent price increases.
