CDMX Participatory Budget Remote Registration Surges 216% to Record High

Overview

  • Registration for the digital consultation closed July 30 with 16,548 sign-ups, marking a 216% increase over 2022.
  • Of those registrants, 16,440 were local voters and 108 were CDMX residents abroad who enrolled via the IECM SEI app.
  • The IECM will dispatch offline SEI tablets to detention centers and conduct home visits for persons in postración and their caregivers.
  • Early remote voting runs August 4–14, followed by in-person polling on August 17 across 1,781 colonias to allocate over 2 billion pesos.
  • SEI, developed internally by the IECM, will power this large-scale electronic voting exercise as one of Mexico’s most advanced platforms.
