Overview

  • The IECM logged 295,549 opinions, roughly 4% of the voter roll, combining in-person voting at 2,427 mesas with an early online phase that included residents abroad, people in preventive detention and homebound voters.
  • District offices are slated to finish counts and validation by August 19, with validation certificates to be issued starting August 20 and winners published on the IECM participation portal and at its offices.
  • The consultation asked residents to direct 2,000 million pesos in alcaldía budgets, following a cycle that drew more than 23,000 project proposals, with over 13,000 advancing to the ballot.
  • Nationally, the INE approved an anteproyecto to request 25,956,685,315 pesos for 2026, including 15,100,027,506 for operations, 3,119,405,112 as a precautionary fund for a possible consulta popular and 7,737,252,697 for constitutionally mandated party financing.
  • Councillors made last‑minute adjustments to cover items such as advance voting, voting from prison and abroad, and gender‑equality work, and the request now goes to SHCP as opposition parties warn against cutting public funding for parties in broader reform talks.
