CDMX Completes Full Digitalization of Civil Registry with 31 Services Online

Overview

  • Mexico City is the first federal entity to offer all 31 Registro Civil procedures online after enabling 28 additional services on July 15.
  • Residents can access birth, marriage, death and other civil records through the Llave CDMX identity platform around the clock without visiting an office.
  • Average documentation requirements have been slashed from 12 to five items and payments are handled via QR codes on the city’s finance portal.
  • The digital channel complements existing in-person options and will be expanded with a Locatel WhatsApp service for submissions and payments by late September.
  • This effort builds on a prior administration’s digital initiatives and advances the city’s broader modernization and anti-corruption agenda.
