CDF Munir Meets POWERUS Delegation to Discuss Emerging Defence Technologies

Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations confirmed a high-level delegation from U.S. defence firm POWERUS met Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, with the visit led by Robert Bret Velicovich.
Officials said the talks centered on evolving defence technologies and possible cooperation in defence procurement, production and capacity development.
No contracts or formal agreements were announced, and both sides described the discussion as an expression of interest in expanding engagement rather than a finalized deal.
The meeting follows recent U.S.–Pakistan defence contacts, including a December U.S. authorisation for F‑16 support and earlier engagements with U.S. lawmakers and joint training efforts this year.
If pursued, industry-level ties with U.S. firms could accelerate Pakistan’s planned technology-driven military modernisation and create opportunities for local defence production and skills development.
