CD Projekt RED Ships Patch 5.01 to Fix Witcher 3 Remastered’s Visual and Technical Problems

The update clears major visual and stability regressions to help CD Projekt RED pursue closer platform parity ahead of the Songs of the Past DLC next year.

Overview

  • Patch 5.01, which deployed Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026, is live on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and appears as console build 5.000.400.
  • Console players can now toggle Bloom and access Light Shafts and Depth of Field settings while CDPR also adjusted bloom, tone mapping, character lighting, ray/path tracing and changed the default dynamic resolution scaling to off.
  • The patch fixes a console audio bug that made voiceover lines much quieter after using pause‑menu tabs and resolves PS5 frame‑rate and settings‑reset issues.
  • A broad set of gameplay, UI and save fixes address problems such as automatic blade oils, uncontrollable boats, ladder animations, delayed dodging, stamina drain when sprinting and a Vizima chest reward bug that may duplicate some items after being corrected.
  • PC and GPU fixes stop unsupported graphics options from being enabled, prevent the wrong GPU from being selected, and stop DLSS/XeSS from applying on incompatible cards while CDPR continues to collect reports and plans further updates and closer Switch 2 parity ahead of the 2027 DLC.
