  • Station CCTV captured a man carrying the child; the footage was circulated and a Mahatma Phule Police Station constable identified the suspect as 22-year-old Akshay Khare.
  • Khare and his aunt, Savita Khare, were arrested in Kalyan, and officers recovered the infant from Savita’s home, according to police.
  • A kidnapping case under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered, with both detainees to be produced in court on Wednesday.
