- CCTV released on June 24 shows Kelsall ignoring a give way sign at the Festival Road and Wath-upon-Dearne junction before speeding into the victim’s vehicle.
- After the collision, Kelsall and three passengers fled the scene without checking on the trapped driver and calmly collected £20 notes strewn on the road.
- The victim, a woman in her 50s, was pinned inside her car and suffered fractures to her pelvis, spine and fibula, as well as a sternum injury.
- Kelsall was arrested two months after the May 2023 crash when officers found him in possession of 26 wraps of crack cocaine and subsequently charged him with dangerous driving and drug possession.
- On June 10 at Sheffield Crown Court, Kelsall admitted causing serious injury by dangerous driving and received a three-year prison sentence plus a three-year driving ban with an 18-month extension.
