CCB Busts Interstate Fake Nandini Ghee Network, Seizes 8,136 Litres in Bengaluru Raids

Police say spurious ghee made in Tamil Nadu entered Bengaluru through authorised KMF distribution channels.

Overview

  • Four suspects — Mahendra, Deepak, Muniraju and transporter Abhi Arasu — were arrested after coordinated CCB–KMF vigilance operations.
  • Raids traced production to a Tiruppur unit where coconut and palm oil were mixed and packed in counterfeit Nandini sachets and bottles.
  • Officers intercepted a vehicle bringing the stock into the city and searched Krishna Enterprises' godowns and shops in Nanjamba Agrahara, Chamarajpet.
  • Seizures included 8,136 litres of adulterated ghee, four goods vehicles, manufacturing machinery, five mobile phones, cash of ₹1,19,640 and cans of coconut and palm oil, with total property valued at ₹1,26,95,200.
  • A case is registered with the CCB Special Investigation Division as probes continue into the wider network, prior activity reported since 2018 and possible sales through wholesale, retail outlets and Nandini parlours.
