Overview
- CBSE has confirmed that Phase 2 Class 10 results will be released imminently but has not given an official date or time for the announcement.
- The Phase 2 exams were held from May 15 to May 21 for about 6.8 lakh candidates, with 6,68,854 registrations reported across improvement and compartment categories and 85,285 listed as compartment students.
- Under the new dual‑exam framework the board will use the better of a student’s two scores only if the student clears the second attempt, and students who fail the second attempt are marked unsuccessful and must repeat Class 10 the next year.
- Students will be able to check provisional marksheets on CBSE result portals and services such as cbse.gov.in, cbseresults.nic.in, DigiLocker, UMANG, SMS and IVRS when the result link goes live.
- The policy aims to reduce high‑stakes pressure by giving an in‑year second chance as recommended by NEP 2020, but it keeps strict limits such as barring most ‘Essential Repeat’ candidates from Phase 2 and preserving failure consequences.
