CBSE Starts Mandatory Teacher Training for Middle-School Skill Education on January 5

The push aligns with NEP 2020 to shift middle school to competency-based learning using NCERT's Kaushal Bodh.

Overview

  • The first phase runs January 5–10 at designated schools in Varanasi, Sonipat, Panipat, Gurugram, Lucknow, and multiple Delhi-NCR locations, with further CBPs slated later in January.
  • Each session is a one-day, face-to-face Capacity Building Programme held offline to prepare educators to deliver Skill Education in Classes 6–8.
  • CBSE directs affiliated schools to register via listed venue contacts or the CBSE Academic website, with no fee charged and no TA/DA provided.
  • Participation includes school leaders as well as teachers, and attendees are asked to bring NCERT Kaushal Bodh activity books for practical, materials-based training.
  • Schools are expected to allocate roughly 110 hours per year for structured, project-based Skill Education with integrated internal assessment to replace rote routines.
