CBSE Sets Class 12 Supplementary Practicals for July 29–August 4, 2026

The board centralizes examiner appointments and makes same-day online upload of practical marks final to curb post-exam changes.

Overview

  • CBSE issued an official circular on Wednesday that fixes practical exam dates from July 29 to August 4 and tells eligible students to contact their school or allotted centre by July 27 to confirm schedules.
  • The practicals apply only to Class 12 students in the Compartment category marked RP or RB, with RP candidates appearing only for practicals and RB candidates required to sit both theory and practical exams.
  • Regional Offices will appoint external examiners while schools must name internal examiners from their staff and are banned from appointing external examiners on their own.
  • Practical answer books supplied by Regional Offices must be used, regular students will sit practicals at their own schools, private candidates at their theory centres, and Regional Offices will arrange alternate venues when facilities are lacking.
  • Schools and centres must upload practical marks to the CBSE portal on the same day each exam is held and the board will treat those uploaded marks as final, creating a tight window for Regional Offices, schools and students to complete logistics before the tests begin.
