CBSE Sets Class 12 Review Windows After Acknowledging Marking Errors

Officials say expert checks will correct mistakes that could raise or lower scores.

CBSE outlined a two-step post-result process for Class 12 that starts with requests for scanned answer sheets and then opens a short window for verification and re-evaluation.
The board’s exam controller said evaluators handle an enormous volume of scripts and accepted that some marking mistakes can occur that will be corrected after expert review.
Students must apply in order by first seeking verification of marks, then obtaining a scanned copy, and only then selecting questions for re-evaluation.
The fees published for these services are ₹500 per subject for verification, ₹500–₹700 per subject for a scanned copy, and ₹100 per question for re-evaluation, with all fees non-refundable.
An RTI reported by Times Now showed CBSE collected ₹23.19 crore in 2024–25 from review applications, including about ₹3.09 crore for photocopies and roughly ₹20.09 crore for re-checking, fueling scrutiny of costs tied to the On-Screen Marking system.
