Overview
- For the first time, Class 10 board exams will be held twice in one session, with a first sitting in February to early March and a second from May 15 to June 1, 2026.
- The Class 12 exams are slated from February 17 to April 9, 2026, according to the tentative timetable.
- CBSE outlined an overall examination window from February 17 to July 15 covering main papers, exams for sports students, the Class 10 second sitting and Class 12 supplementary tests.
- Around 45 lakh candidates are expected to appear across 204 subjects from India and 26 countries abroad in 2026.
- Evaluation will generally begin about 10 days after each subject and conclude within roughly 12 days to support timely results.
