CBSE Releases Class 10 Phase II Results After Weeks-Long Delay

The board said provisional marksheets will be issued digitally to roughly 6.68 lakh candidates through CBSE portals, DigiLocker, UMANG, SMS and IVRS.

Overview

  • The optional second-board exams were held between May 15 and May 21, 2026, and the board has now published the Phase II results for the students who took that session.
  • CBSE data show 6,68,854 candidates registered for Phase II, including about 85,285 compartment students and 5,25,655 improvement candidates.
  • Under the new two-exam ‘best-score’ policy, CBSE will use the higher subject-wise mark from the two attempts when preparing final marksheets.
  • The weeks-long delay in announcing results disrupted Class 11 admissions, subject choices and school transfers because many schools had already started their new session.
  • CBSE will deliver provisional marksheets online and schools will issue original certificates, ending uncertainty while raising fresh questions about the board’s communication and operational rollout.
