Overview

  • The circular instructs all affiliated schools to implement Tele-MANAS and prominently display helpline numbers 14416 and 1800-891-4416 with the app QR code in counsellor rooms, libraries, notice boards, and ICT labs.
  • Schools must share Tele-MANAS information in newsletters, handbooks, assemblies, and parent–teacher meetings, train counsellors and wellness coordinators to make referrals, and the circular has been shared with central school networks and state education departments for wider uptake.
  • Tele-MANAS operates 24x7 through 53 centres in 20 languages and has handled more than 23 lakh calls since its launch on October 10, 2022.
  • Access has been expanded with a new video consultation platform for real-time, confidential sessions and a mobile app available in Hindi and English, with additional regional languages expected.
  • CBSE and AIIMS Delhi have begun Project MATE training for around 50 school counsellors and wellness teachers in Delhi-NCR to strengthen adolescent resilience and refine a model for broader rollout.
