Overview
- CBSE issued a circular to all affiliated schools requiring them to provide Class 11 registration numbers to candidates filling the JEE Main 2026 form.
- The notice, signed by Joint Secretary (Coordination) Agarwal, instructs principals to comply immediately to prevent inconvenience.
- NTA has made the Class 11 registration field mandatory to verify academic details and to plan exam schedules that do not clash with board papers.
- JEE Main 2026 applications opened on October 31 and close on November 27, with Session 1 from January 21–30 and Session 2 from April 1–10; exam-city slips are due in early January and Session 1 results on February 12.
- To minimize conflicts, CBSE has revised its 2026 board timetable, placing the last Session 2 exam on April 9, a day before JEE Main begins on April 10.
