CBSE Opens 2027 Board Applications for Private Candidates

Online-only filing with fixed centre allocation will force repeat and improvement candidates to choose their examination city carefully before the October deadlines.

Overview

  • The CBSE private-candidates portal opened applications for Class 10 and Class 12 on October 8, 2026, with forms now live for eligible students.
  • Candidates must apply and pay the normal fee by October 23, 2026, or use a late window from October 24 to October 30 with an extra Rs 2,000 surcharge.
  • Eligibility covers four groups: Essential Repeat, Compartment candidates, those who failed or were Essential Repeat in 2021–2026, and students who passed in 2026 seeking improvement in one or more subjects.
  • Fees are set by country and method: Rs 320 per subject in India (Rs 1,100 in Nepal; Rs 2,200 elsewhere), Class 12 practicals carry a lower separate charge, and payments must be made online via internet banking, UPI, debit card or credit card.
  • The board requires a single online form with small JPG uploads for photo and signature, will issue fresh 2027 roll numbers, will not change allotted centres, allows disability certificates for concessions, and warns that false information can lead to rejection and forfeited fees.
