CBSE Enforces Strict Practical Exam Protocols for 2026 Boards, Sets Jan 1–Feb 14 Window

The circular locks in assessment integrity by making uploads final to enforce uniform, auditable internal marks.

Overview

  • Schools must conduct all Class 10 and 12 practicals, projects and internal assessments within January 1 to February 14, 2026, with principals asked to intensify oversight from February 1.
  • Marks must be uploaded on the same day of assessment and become final upon submission, with examiners required to verify maximum marks before entry as post-result changes will not be allowed.
  • Only CBSE-appointed external examiners may assess Class 12 practicals, and use of any unauthorised examiner will render the assessment null and void.
  • Institutions are directed to ensure logistical readiness, including adequate answer books and fully equipped laboratories, to inform parents and students in advance, and to contact regional offices for shortages or clarifications.
  • Schools must provide suitable arrangements for Children With Special Needs, no exemptions or separate practicals will be granted for students in national or international sports, and revised remuneration for exam functionaries takes effect this session.
