CBSE Completes Surprise Inspections in 10 Schools and Weighs Sanctions

It will consider measures ranging from corrective directives to affiliation withdrawal after reviewing the inspection reports.

Overview

  • Ten synchronized teams, each comprising a CBSE official and an affiliated school principal, conducted unannounced visits on August 13 across Assam, Delhi, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Odisha.
  • Inspections examined physical infrastructure, academic processes and attendance records to root out dummy or non-attending enrolments.
  • The board released the names of the ten schools inspected, including institutions in Guwahati, Pune, Gwalior, Whitefield and Khurda.
  • CBSE will decide whether to issue corrective directives, impose penalties or downgrade or withdraw affiliation based on the committees’ findings.
  • This operation reflects CBSE’s intensified enforcement of its affiliation bye-laws to uphold educational quality and exam integrity.
