CBSE Activates Four New Offices, Sets September Start for Three More

The board says decentralised offices will improve coordination with schools to strengthen services.

Overview

  • Raipur and Ranchi regional Centres of Excellence, along with sub-regional offices in Itanagar and Gangtok, became functional on August 22, 2025.
  • Gurugram and Lucknow regional offices are scheduled to open on September 1, 2025, with Agartala to follow on September 15, 2025.
  • All CBSE-affiliated schools will now be governed under newly assigned jurisdictions aligned to these offices.
  • The expansion was approved by the Finance Committee on December 12, 2024, ratified by the Governing Body on December 26, 2024, and cleared by the Ministry of Education, per a notification by Secretary Himanshu Gupta.
  • CBSE issued an advisory warning students and parents about unauthorised platforms falsely offering quick fixes for duplicate mark sheets, certificates, and document corrections.
