- CBSA and Indian Oil and Gas Canada posted the lowest share of staff recommending their workplace as a great place to work at 46 percent, compared with a 67 percent public service average.
- CSIS registered 48 percent on the recommendation question and the Office of the Auditor General 49 percent, even as CSIS employees reported 84 percent pride in their work and 77 percent job satisfaction.
- Union leaders cited heavy-handed discipline, staffing shortages, return-to-office tensions and automation at borders as factors dragging morale, saying the results were unsurprising.
- CBSA said it aims to ensure a safe, respectful workplace free from harassment, and CSIS said it is examining the findings and continuing efforts to support employees.
- Some small bodies scored exceptionally high, with 100 percent at the RCMP External Review Committee and the Office of the Commissioner of Lobbying, while Invest in Canada and the judicial affairs office topped 90 percent; the survey ran Oct. 28–Dec. 31, 2024 and was administered by Statistics Canada with the Treasury Board’s HR office.
