CBP Seizes Over a Ton of Narcotics at San Ysidro Port in July

U.S. Customs and Border Protection intercepted 2,628 pounds of illegal drugs in 50 incidents at the California-Mexico border crossing.

Methamphetamine accounted for the largest seizure, with 2,266 pounds confiscated.
Other drugs seized included 174 pounds of fentanyl, 170 pounds of cocaine, and 18 pounds of heroin.
The drugs were hidden in vehicles attempting to enter the United States from Mexico.
Suspects were handed over to Homeland Security Investigations for further questioning.
The seizures are part of ongoing efforts under Operation Apollo to combat drug smuggling.
