CBP Seizes Over 6 Tons of Meth and 400 Pounds of Cocaine at U.S.-Mexico Border

Drug-sniffing dogs and advanced scanning technology uncover massive drug shipments concealed in commercial vehicles at Otay Mesa.

Officers found 11,469 pounds of meth worth over $18 million hidden in a squash shipment.
A separate inspection revealed 412 pounds of cocaine concealed in a truck's fuel tanks.
Both drivers were valid border crossing card holders and were handed over to Homeland Security Investigations.
The seizures are part of Operation Apollo, a counter-fentanyl initiative started in late 2023.
