Overview
- U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced temporary Global Entry interview sessions running July 23 to August 9 at five South Florida sites, including Deerfield Beach, Pompano Beach, Hollywood, Hallandale Beach and the Fort Lauderdale enrollment center.
- CBP says the special sessions are open only to applicants who first applied through the Trusted Traveler Program and already hold conditional approval, and appointments must be scheduled in advance and are subject to availability.
- Global Entry costs $120 for a five-year membership, includes expedited customs processing and automatic TSA PreCheck access for many members, and minors under 18 may be fee-exempt when a parent or guardian is a member or also applies.
- Daniel Alonso, CBP’s director of field operations for Miami and Tampa, described the events as a way to bring enrollment closer to communities to help eligible travelers complete interviews while strengthening security and the travel experience.
- CBP recommends that people who travel internationally only rarely consider alternatives such as TSA PreCheck or the Mobile Passport Control app, while frequent travelers may see shorter wait times and avoid long trips to permanent enrollment centers.
