• CBIC said all officers named in the DoR findings have been relieved of duties and transferred out of the jurisdiction to protect the investigation’s integrity.
• The customs broker identified in the report has had its licence suspended under Regulation 16 of the Customs Brokers Licensing Regulations, 2018, pending the probe.
• A police complaint has been filed against unauthorised intermediaries alleged to have engaged in deceptive practices around customs clearances.
• A Task Force led by the Member (Customs) will implement corrective steps including a review of pending cases with attention to MSMEs, expanded faceless assessments, tighter access limited to authorised CHAs, stronger grievance monitoring, and public updates.
