CBI Widens NHIDCL Bribery Probe, Seizes Rs 2.62 Crore After Guwahati Arrest

The agency says verification of suspected undervalued purchases is underway in a disproportionate-assets inquiry.

  • Executive Director Maisnam Riten Kumar Singh was caught on 14 October while allegedly accepting Rs 10 lakh for a favourable extension of time and a completion certificate tied to NH-37 four-laning between Demow and the end of the Moran bypass.
  • The CBI also arrested company representative Binod Kumar Jain, and a special court in Guwahati remanded both accused to three days in police custody.
