CBI Traps Two Officials in Bribery Cases Tied to Air Force Tender and Railway Hospital

CBI says both remain in custody with searches yielding documents now under review.

Overview

  • Ashokkumar Jadav, an auditor in the IFA/CGDA Gandhinagar office, was caught in a September 30 trap accepting Rs 3.5 lakh after allegedly demanding Rs 4 lakh to clear a CCTV supply order for an Indian Air Force base.
  • Jadav was produced before a Pune special court following a transit remand from Ahmedabad and was sent to CBI custody until October 4, 2025.
  • Recordings provided by the complainant indicate a possible role of an Air Force sergeant in the bribe demand, which CBI officials say is subject to verification.
  • In a separate September 29 operation in Nanded, railway hospital superintendent Lakshmishankar Mathuraparsad was arrested after accepting Rs 20,000, reduced from an alleged Rs 25,000 demand, to process a contractor’s pending bill and performance guarantee.
  • Searches at the residential and official premises of both accused have recovered documents and digital material that the agency says are being scrutinized as investigations continue.
