• CBI caught Delhi PWD Executive Engineer Kalu Ram Meena accepting a ₹30,000 bribe after he demanded a 3% commission on pending contractor bills.
• Searches of Meena’s Delhi and Jaipur premises led to the recovery of ₹1.6 crore in cash along with property documents and bank records.
• In Vijayawada, Income Tax Inspector B. Ramachandra Rao and middleman Raju were arrested for taking a ₹70,000 bribe after initially seeking up to ₹5 lakh.
• Both Meena and the I-T inspector have been remanded to court custody while the agency conducts follow-up raids and interrogations.
• The CBI continues its probe under the Prevention of Corruption Act, pursuing additional asset tracing and planning further witness interviews.
