The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) has settled a legal dispute with its former leader, Tony Danker, who was dismissed in April 2023 after allegations related to his conduct.
Danker's dismissal followed both formal and informal complaints by junior staff, leading to a legal action that has now been settled with an undisclosed agreement.
The CBI has reiterated that Danker is not associated with historical allegations of misconduct that pre-date his tenure, emphasizing a separation from past controversies.
Danker, who led the CBI from November 2020 until spring 2023, expressed shock at his dismissal, stating he was unaware of the events that occurred before his time.
The CBI has managed to recover from the fallout of the misconduct claims, maintaining a membership base of 170,000, down from 190,000 before the crisis.
