  • During coordinated searches on June 21 in Bihar and Jharkhand, CBI teams recovered seven 100-gram gold bars alongside incriminating documents and mobile phones linked to the scam.
  • Investigators allege exporters and customs officials fabricated bills for tiles and automobile parts at Land Customs Stations including Bhimnagar, Jaynagar and Bhittamore to claim nearly ₹100 crore in GST refunds.
  • The FIR names former Customs Additional Commissioner Ranvijay Kumar, four senior superintendents and about 30 exporter firms, along with G-card holder Ganga Singh, for colluding in the fraud.
  • CBI analysis indicates bogus export claims totaled around ₹800 crore and that the implicated firms were not operating from their registered addresses.
  • The agency is now tracing financial transactions to identify beneficiaries and establish the full scale of the fraudulent network.
