CBI Officer Accused of Corruption and Bribery Arrested

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Deputy Superintendent of Police Brij Mohan Meena for allegedly accepting bribes from individuals under investigation by him.
Meena is accused of using middlemen and hawala channels to route bribe money, reportedly involving transactions worth ₹5-6 crores.
Searches conducted at 20 locations across Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai, and New Delhi led to the recovery of ₹55 lakh in cash, property papers showing investments of ₹1.78 crores, and records of transactions worth ₹1.63 crores.
The CBI has emphasized its zero-tolerance policy toward corruption, dismissing three officers and forcing five others into compulsory retirement in recent actions.
This case follows the dismissal of another CBI officer, Rahul Raj, who was caught accepting a ₹10 lakh bribe, leading to the forfeiture of his 2023 Excellence in Investigation medal.
